Press Release                                                 Launch of The Art Hand, March 16 & 17, 2012

The Art Hand is a new art school that runs intensive and challenging art courses in painting, photography, film-making, stained glass, ceramics and more. It is located on the cliffs in an area of great natural beauty called the Copper Coast near Bunmahon in County Waterford.

The art courses take place in a custom-built cottage that is connected to an ultra modern house with polished concrete floors and a grass roof. Accommodation and food is provided for participants in the local area. The Art Hand is run by artists Sean and Miranda Corcoran and a team of talented tutors.

There is a press preview of The Art Hand this Friday March 16th and the official launch takes place on Saturday, March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day) from 3 to 7pm. All are welcome.

The Art Hand is pleased to announce that to coincide with its official launch there will be a documentary film created in Bunmahon called ‘Village by the Sea’. The film is being made by New Zealand writer and director Michael Heath with cinematography by Stephen Latty.

The documentary will be about New Zealand painter Edith Collier’s time spent in Bunmahon in 1915. The production will attempt to identify the landscape and people that are featured in her paintings. We are still trying to find out who the boy in the following painting is…

For further details or directions please ring Sean or Miranda on 051 292919.
